Mexican driver Patricio O'Ward expressed his desire to reach Formula 1, considering it his dream, although he also stated that he would not see it as a failure if it does not happen. It is important to highlight that O'Ward is the seventh driver of Mexican origin to participate in the Mexico Grand Prix, which began on October 25 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez with an attendance of over 100,000 spectators.

During the first day of activities, Patricio O'Ward was one of four Latino drivers who took part in the first practice session at the Circuito de la Magdalena Mixihuca. After finishing in thirteenth place, the driver expressed satisfaction with his performance and thanked the support of the fans present at the event.

In the historic Mexico Grand Prix, other prominent Mexican origin drivers who have previously participated include brothers Pedro and Ricardo Rodríguez, Moisés Solana, Héctor Rebaque, Esteban Gutiérrez, and Sergio Checo Pérez. Despite his aspiration to reach Formula 1, O'Ward emphasized that he currently considers himself a benchmark in the IndyCar category and feels satisfied with his leadership role in that competition.
